Grief & Loss Therapy

As Oscar Wilde wrote, "where there is sorrow, there is holy ground." In therapy, we will enter that sacred ground together, holding space for your loss, your pain, and the love that made it possible, so that you never have to walk it alone.

Do any of these statements resonate?

  • You’ve experienced a loss and you feel overwhelmed, broken, lost.

  • You’re feeling crushed by pain.

  • You’re feeling grief but unsure how to process it through your body.

  • You feel alone and misunderstood.

  • You feel ashamed and guilty, spiraling in negative thoughts.

  • You’ve lost interest in what used to bring you joy.

If so, I can help. My approach to grief work has helped many people who come in with these feelings. It’s possible to have more connection, regulation and healing.

Therapy for Grief

Whether you’re grieving a breakup, a divorce, a job loss, the death of a loved one, or the loss of a former version of yourself, you don’t have to carry it alone. Grief is a natural part of being human and yet it can feel isolating, overwhelming, and difficult to navigate without support.

Here, all of you is welcome. There is no prescribed path, no timeline, and no expectation to “move on”. We work at your pace, honoring the loss while creating space to explore what arises for you. This approach supports not only emotional processing, but also the physical and nervous-system impacts of grief, helping ease persistent pain, sleep difficulties, anxiety, and intrusive or unhelpful thoughts.

My work is also informed by personal experience with grief, which has shaped my understanding of how deeply it can affect the body, the mind, and one’s sense of meaning. This allows me to meet your experience with genuine empathy and care, without rushing or minimizing what you’re going through.

Together, we focus on integrating grief into your life, not erasing it,  so that over time, there is room again for connection, purpose, and even joy. Because grief does not make us broken. It reminds us of our capacity to love.

FAQs

  • No. In Somatic Experiencing® informed work, the focus is on what your body and nervous system are experiencing in the present moment, not on recounting the story of your loss. You don’t need to relive painful memories to heal. Often, the body carries grief in subtle sensations, tension, or energy patterns, and our work helps release and integrate that safely, even without verbalizing every detail.

  • Yes. Somatic Experiencing® informed work is paced to meet you where you are, even in the early stages of grief. We begin gently, focusing on small moments of awareness, grounding, and nervous system regulation. You can engage safely with your experience at a pace your system can tolerate, building resilience without being overwhelmed.

  • While we don’t impose meaning, this work creates space to integrate your grief into your life in a way that can open up connection, reflection, and new understanding. By supporting your nervous system, body, and mind to process the loss, many people find clarity, perspective, and renewed access to purpose over time.

  • Grief is highly individual, there is no right or wrong way to experience it, there is just your way to experience grief. Your process is unique to you, and your feelings are valid, even if they look different from what others expect. This work supports you in honoring your own process and integrating your grief in a way that respects your body, mind, and life experience.

  • It’s completely natural to wonder, “Will I feel overwhelmed?” That question can feel scary, and it’s okay to notice that. In our Somatic Experiencing informed grief work, we move slowly and intentionally, building your capacity to feel emotions without being flooded. If strong feelings arise, we pause, re-ground, and support your nervous system so you stay safe and contained. The goal is to help you access and release grief gently, not to overwhelm you.
